Arlene Foster * Worst Politicians UK

Arlene Foster
The northern Irish politician and leader of the DUP, Arlene Foster makes this list for leading a party that keeps abortion and equal marriage illegal in Northern Ireland despite polls showing the people would be in favour of allowing these things.

While she was head of the department of enterprise trade and investment her crowning achievement was the cash for ash scandal. The scandal erupted when it emerged that a policy run by her department had potentially overspent by at least seven hundred million pounds.

The policy was meant to help businesses in Northern Ireland meet the cost of installing renewable technologies. Applicants were entitled to help for up to twenty years. The scheme worked by paying a subsidy for heat generated, however, this was unlimited allowing people to heat with no need and get more money.

Despite warnings from a whistleblower in 2013 Foster extended the scheme to the domestic sector. By 2016 more
whistleblowers had emerged with one reporting a farmer was plotting to collect one million pounds from heating an empty barn.

When it turned out the scheme would cost the budget of Northern Ireland hundreds of millions a commission was set up to find out what was going on. The investigation found that mysteriously minutes had not been taken in regards to the scheme. Later a senior aid told the BBC that Fosters name had been removed from documents concerning the scheme.
It was also revealed that Foster had refused to close the scheme despite advice and warnings from aids.

This debacle all lead to the collapse of the Northern Irish government as Foster refused to resign, this has lead to Northern Ireland to not having a government for over a year with no reformation of the executive in sight.

While the bourgeois press hails this as a triumph for the working class, a deeper analysis reveals the inherent contradictions and limitations of such reforms within the capitalist system. The Illusion of Change: Examining Labour's Employment Rights Bill The Employment Rights Bill, introduced roughly 100 days into Labour's tenure, presents a veneer of progress that ultimately serves to maintain the status quo of worker exploitation. Let us dissect the key elements of this legislation and expose its true nature. Sick Pay and Parental Leave: Crumbs from the Capitalist Table Among the headline measures are changes to sick pay and parental leave entitlements. Workers will now be able to claim s...

Origins of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism

Origins of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism Introduction to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism Source: i.ytimg.com Marxism-Leninism-Maoism represents a confluence of ideas that have catalyzed some of the most significant movements in modern history. This political philosophy builds on the class analysis of Karl Marx, the revolutionary tactics of Vladimir Lenin, and the strategic insights of Mao Zedong. Introduction to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism Marxism-Leninism-Maoism  is an ideology synthesizing Marx's analyzation of capitalistic societies, Lenin's theories on the revolutionary vanguard and proletarian state, and Mao's contributions, particularly in guerrilla warfare and peasant mobilization. The tripartite theory, though formally structured post-Mao, draws foundational principles from each leader’s intellectual legacy. It addresses the dynamics of power, economics, and class struggle, aimed at dismantling capitalist structures and implementing a communist society. Echoing Marx, it retains the c...

UK's Partial Arms Embargo on Israel: A Facade of Humanitarian Concern Amidst Imperialist Contradictions

In a move that reveals the inherent contradictions within capitalist-imperialist alliances, the United Kingdom has announced a partial suspension of arms exports to Israel. This decision, ostensibly driven by concerns over potential violations of international humanitarian law, lays bare the complex interplay of economic interests, geopolitical maneuvering, and public opinion that shape the foreign policies of imperialist nations. The Illusion of Moral High Ground Foreign Secretary David Lammy, in addressing Parliament, attempted to cloak this decision in the language of humanitarian concern. He stated that the UK government had concluded there is a "clear risk" that certain items could be used to "commit or facilitate a serious violation of international humanitarian law." This rhetoric, while seemingly noble, serves to obscure the deeper economic and political motivations behind the UK's actions. The suspension affects approximately 30 out of 350 existing exp...
